We're thrilled to anounce that the 5th Annual Delaware Week for the Animals, presented by Animal World USA, kicks off on Saturday April 14th and will conclude on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. 

See the Calendar of Events page for details on the wide array of exciting, wonderful events taking place in towns and communities across Delaware during this amazing annual Delaware Week for the Animals!  And to make it even more special....Earth Day falls during Delaware Week for the Animals!

                                             

Throughout the entire week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting wonderful animal-related special events.  Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Delaware will be joining in as well, each planning activities to celebrate and help animals. 

Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, shelter adoption days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, events for the farm animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals along with nursing homes. Exciting Earth Day events will be taking place during the week underscoring our need to protect the planet.

Also to be included are a salute to our K9 military and working dogs, cat initiatives, special programs at  the sanctuaries, blessings for the animals, and full-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals!

Become involved! Events are being planned now, and we need animal lovers everywhere in Delaware to start planning so they can participate! See the page "Become Involved" on the website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do.

Please note we will be adding events and activities right up to and through the week.

We are building on the life-changing energy that was generated during last year's historic Delaware Week for the Animals, and we want you to be an important part of this year's celebration.  Please share your ideas and let's make this very special annual DE Week for the Animals better than ever!
